I encourage you to look over these scriptures and ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit.
John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Luke 3:16)
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:9-13)
When we ask God for the Holy Spirit, He gives us the Holy Spirit.
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
The Holy Spirit gives us power and makes us a more effective witness.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4)
They did the speaking. The Holy Spirit gave them the syllables.
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. (1 Cor. 14:2)
When we speak in tongues, we speak to God. No one else understands us.
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. (1 Cor. 14:4)
We get built up when we speak in tongues.
For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified. (1 Cor. 14:17)
We give thanks well when we speak in tongues.
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (Jude 20-21)
We build ourselves up on our faith when we speak in tongues and it keeps us walking in love, which is doing his word.
And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. (Acts 19:6)
You can pray with somebody to receive the Holy Spirit or ask him yourself.
As a result, you will get to speak in tongues and prophesy.
